Decorative panels instead of tiles – practical and modern solutions.

Traditional ceramic tiles have been the standard solution in kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms for years. However, growing demands for quick installation, aesthetics, ease of cleaning and a modern look have led to the increasing use of decorative panels.

DESIGN SOLUTIONS™ 4_kitchen decorative panels allow furniture manufacturers to enrich their offer with modern finishes that meet the growing expectations of customers. The click system and precise panel connections eliminate the need for grout, adhesives or additional tools, which speeds up production and installation, reducing labour costs and order fulfilment time.

What are DESIGN SOLUTIONS™ 4_kitchen decorative panels?

DESIGN SOLUTIONS™ 4_kitchen decorative panels are a system of panels made of 12 mm thick MDF boards, covered with a durable polymer film imitating various finishing materials, such as stone, concrete, metal or fabric. One of the main advantages of decorative panels for kitchens is their quick and easy installation – individual elements are connected with a click system, which ensures perfect adhesion and efficient installation. The solution is based on the 2G® profile connection licensed by VALINGE INNOVATION AB. No screws, dowels or additional tools are required for installation, and the precise fit of the edges eliminates visible gaps, maintaining the aesthetic appearance of the finished surface.

The panels are available in dimensions of 1300 × 620 mm (width × height), making them a versatile solution suitable for most wall surfaces in kitchens. The standard package contains 2 panels packed in a cardboard box that has been adapted for safe courier delivery. This makes transport and storage of the product convenient and does not generate additional logistical problems.

  • Quick and easy installation – installed using a click system, which allows for quick and easy connection of individual elements. Compared to ceramic tiles, which require surface preparation, gluing, grouting and drying, the installation of panels takes much less time.
  • Temperature resistance – they offer a uniform surface, which allows for a modern visual effect. Patterns imitating concrete, stone or metal provide an appearance similar to natural materials, while maintaining full repeatability in production.
  • Easy to clean – the smooth surface of the panels makes cleaning easy. Unlike traditional tiles, there are no grout lines where dirt can accumulate.
  • Durability and resistance – resistant to moisture, high temperatures and light impacts. The material from which they are made retains its properties for many years of use, and the surface does not lose its aesthetic appeal even with daily contact with water or detergents.

The introduction of decorative panels to the product range opens up new channels of cooperation with investors, interior designers and individual customers who are looking for modern kitchen solutions. This allows manufacturers to increase their revenues and develop their product portfolio without having to invest in new production lines.

Moisture resistance of decorative panels

One of the key requirements for materials used in the kitchen is moisture resistance. These decorative panels have been designed to withstand the harsh conditions in this room.

The core of the panel is made of MDF board and the polymer film coating creates a protective barrier that protects the surface against water penetration. As a result, the panels do not deform under the influence of moisture and remain dimensionally stable even in areas exposed to frequent contact with steam or splashes during cooking.

In practice, this means that the panels can be used both above the worktop and in the immediate vicinity of the sink or hob. Unlike some natural wood-based solutions, the panels do not require additional impregnation to maintain their protective properties.

Summary

The inclusion of decorative panels in the product range of furniture manufacturers is a step towards modern and efficient production. The click system technology reduces assembly time while limiting the costs associated with the use of additional materials or tools. The durability of the panels and their resistance to moisture and temperature ensure a long service life for the finished furniture, which directly translates into fewer complaints and greater end customer satisfaction. The variety of designs gives manufacturers the opportunity to create collections that respond to current market trends, and the lightweight construction facilitates logistics and storage. Thanks to these features, decorative panels are not only an alternative to traditional tiles, but also a tool that really supports the development and competitiveness of furniture companies.
