SICAM 2022 fair

This year, the fair in Italian Pordenone was held for the 13th time. It is an event particularly important for our Partners who present their products and ideas for new lines and collections. We accompany them during this intense time to learn more about the directions of development and trends set by the industry, fashion and customers’ expectations. During this year’s fair, we had the opportunity to learn about the development plans of our long-term partners – Continental and Renolit, leading manufacturers of high-quality finishing films, as well as our licensor for the Flick&Click™ system – Välinge Innovation AB.

However, the SICAM fair is not only an opportunity to develop our business contacts and relationships. It is also a chance to take part in interesting conversations, which are especially valuable in the European forum. Thanks to this, we can learn about the trends prevailing not only in our country, but also abroad, and prepare ourselves for the expectations of furniture manufacturers. What caught our attention?

Milled furniture fronts

For some time now, our customers’ orders have shown us that smooth, uniform fronts are giving way to more interesting, decorated versions. We ourselves have prepared our collection of louvred and lamella fronts, which won the second prize in the Furniture Diamond 2023 competition.

The SICAM fair confirmed this trend will continue, and the exhibitors proposed some interesting proposals that caught the eye of visitors. In addition to the louvred structure, they presented milled fronts with a lighter structure, in which geometry plays an important role. New surface structures of boards and furniture elements have appeared among them, which offer much more variety than smooth and minimalist furniture reigning so far.

The handle-free fronts were very popular, offering the comfort of use and no need to install additional elements. This solution was created for demanding customers, emphasizing an elegant, unusual finish with an exclusive character.

Our attention was also drawn to new ways of profiling postforming door ribbons. As an alternative to traditional rounding, furniture manufacturers have proposed more stylish finishes that make standard door ribbons look unique and become a premium product.

Ecological finishing films

As we implement our internal ecological strategy ourselves, we are always looking for new solutions that will allow us to raise the care for the natural environment to a new level. That is why we could not be indifferent to the solutions presented by our suppliers. These are:

• Finishing films made of Continental’s rPET recycled material. This solution maintains the high quality associated with the manufacturer, and at the same time offers original patterns, imitating natural, slightly “distressed” wood.
• New generation ecological PVC films, proposed by the Swedish producer, Gislaved. They delighted with interesting colours and unusual structures.

Colour trends for the coming year

The Renolit company has traditionally presented colour trends related to interior design, developed in great detail by industry experts. Color Road 2022/23 indicates the domination of three spaces in our lives: space, depth of the sea and land, which combines both the colours of nature and the virtual world that is getting closer to us.

SICAM 2022 trade fair – a must-see event for the entire industry

Although Italian companies predominate at the Pordenone fair, more and more manufacturers from other countries attend the event each year. For us, it is a unique opportunity to get to know them and expand our knowledge of the trends and aspirations of the industry. It is always a very inspiring experience for us and an opportunity to look for new solutions.
